[Invocation]
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a humble heart, seeking Your divine presence and guidance in this precious journey of caring for those who are nearing the end of their earthly journey. You are the Source of all comfort and strength, the One who lifts us in times of need and holds us tenderly when we falter. I invite Your grace into my spirit, that I might be a vessel through which Your love can flow freely.
[Body of the Prayer]
Lord, grant me the empathy to truly see each soul in my care, recognizing their dignity and beauty in every moment. Help me to listen with warmth and compassion, understanding the fears and hopes, the pain and peace, that reside within them. Remind me that as I tend to their physical needs, I am tending to You, for Jesus taught us, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40).
In those sacred moments when words fail, let my presence offer comfort, and let my hands bring healing. Fill my heart with courage as I walk alongside them through the valleys of suffering and the peaks of cherished memories. Infuse my actions with Your love, and lighten the burdens of those who are weary, reminding me of Paul’s assurance: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
When I feel overwhelmed, steady my heart, Father, and remind me of the endless reservoir of Your strength. Allow my spirit to be refreshed continuously by Your mercy, that I might pour out Your love anew each day. Give me wisdom in the delicate balance of giving care, knowing when to step forward and when to create space, trusting fully in Your divine plan.
Help me also be a source of comfort to the families, as they face both sorrow and love intermingled. Grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them feel Your embrace in their tears and in their laughter. May we all find solace in the promise of Your eternal life, a promise not just for the future, but a hope that carries us through the present.
[Conclusion]
Thank You, Lord, for entrusting me with this sacred responsibility. I am grateful for Your unwavering grace, which sustains us all. With each day that I am blessed to serve, may my actions sing praises to Your glory. I place my trust in Your perfect will, and I rest in the knowledge that You are always near.
In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
