Invocation:
Heavenly Father,
As I stand on the threshold of retirement, I come before You with a heart open to Your guidance and peace. You have been my shepherd throughout the seasons of my life, and I ask for Your presence as I step into this new chapter.
Prayer:
Lord, this transition brings with it a mix of emotions—excitement, uncertainty, joy, and trepidation. I surrender these feelings to You, trusting in Your wisdom and understanding. You promise in Jeremiah 29:11 that You have plans for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future.
Guide me as I adapt to this new pace of life. Let my hands find meaningful work and my heart find joy in rest and reflection. Help me embrace the opportunities to connect in deeper ways with family, friends, and community, being Your hands and feet to those who need love and support.
Father, as my daily rhythms change, grant me the grace to care for my body with the strength and vitality that comes from You. Remind me that my worth is not tied to my productivity but rooted in being Your beloved child.
Pour out Your Spirit upon me, renewing my sense of purpose. As Isaiah 40:31 tells us, those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles. May I find new adventures and passions in this chapter You have lovingly prepared for me.
Conclusion:
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness throughout my working years and into this new season. I am grateful for Your constant presence and the promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. With a heart full of gratitude, I look forward to the days ahead, resting in Your steadfast love.
Amen.
